Hello to You!

Remember, I changed job positions with my company? Well, I get to sleep in a little bit later during the day. Guess what came today? The beautiful red box was here when I awoke!
This is just about how magical it was when I opened my box today!

That's the name of the June My Paper Pumpkin - Hello to You. Isn't that just the cutest thing? Well, I probably shouldn't say "cute" cuz you can use this saying for masculine cards. And the men I know, they probably wouldn't like the word "cute." Just sayin'!  :)

So, here is the original card design that comes with this month's Paper Pumpkin.

June Paper Pumpkin
Hello to You.

I think it took me longer to get out my glue stick and glass block than it took me to put this card together! Do you notice the hexagons that are punched out? You got it - you will stamp the heart image on the INSIDE of the card, but it shows on the OUTSIDE of the card too! How great is that?

And the hexagons that have daffodil and primrose designs on them - those are stickers! The suede zig-zag pieces? The zig-zag is the third stamp that comes with this month's set.

Now, although it also comes with a sheet of plain white hexagons for us to stamp the zig-zag onto, I used the punchouts from the cards! And for my monthly Paper Pumpkin Party - the crafters will LOVE the extra designs. We are scheduled to meet on Saturday morning. For the long distance monthly crafters, you should receive your extras shortly/early next week.

Hope you have enjoyed this GREAT monthly card! Don't forget to join Paper Pumpkin before the 10th of the month. AND for my monthly crafters, you will receive a PDF of the card designs PLUS the one extra. Here's the link to JOIN NOW! Make sure you see my name, Dawn Stock, Grove City, Ohio, to snag the monthly invite to my home.

Look forward to crafting with you!

The New Catalog and Working on June's Card Class!

Crafters  -

I'm off from my "regular" job today so I can prepare for the June 22nd card class! I LOVE the new stuff out of the catalog - how about you?

So, while I'm playing, I mean working in my Craft Room, I thought I'd show you a couple of pictures from the Salt Lake City Regional in April.

How many of us are fortunate enough to have a picture with our husbands like this?
What a great guy, huh?

And, he is such a good sport. When we went "shopping" for our new items at the end of the Regional, he guarded our bags and even looked through the catalog himself (probably seeing dollar signs - cuz he knows how much I just LOVE Stampin' Up!).  :)
See? Real Men look through the Stampin' Up! catalog too!

If you want to look through your OWN catalog - I'd LOVE to be your demonstrator. Contact me so YOU can have one too!

The June Let's Play class has us, I don't know.... playing with some new stuff from the catalog! Saturday, June 15th is the final day to RSVP for the class. The class is Saturday, June 22nd and we will have such a good time - Hope to see you here!

Grab Your Greetings!

How exciting is this?
Grab Your Greetings

With the launch of the new 2013-2014 Stampin' Up! catalog yesterday, they have also announced a special sale on THREE of the BEST (in my opinion!) Greetings stamp sets. 25% off three of their greeting sets! The stamp sets are:
Sassy Salutations
Item #132070 (wood)
Item #126707 (clear)
Sweet Essentials
Item #132085 (wood)
Item #126457 (clear)
Petite Pairs
Item #128706 (wood)
Item #122497 (clear)

Gotta be honest here - I have two of the three myself! And if I tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth, I've been eyeing the third set too!

I have used my Sassy Salutations on SEVERAL cards. The saying is just so... I don't know... "sassy" and they fit PERFECTLY on the front of cards. And my Petite Pairs set works beautifully on sets of cards that I can give as gifts! I sometimes "pair" my Petite Pairs with the Note Cards and Envelopes for some VERY EASY cards! Did you see in the new catalog - they have also added CRUMB CAKE Note Card Envelopes?! I think those new envelopes will add the PERFECT touch to the card sets! Add a stamp that you like and maybe a bit of ribbon and this idea is just WAY nicer than those store-bought gift sets!

You know what? My craft room is already set up for today's New Catalog/Retired Items Party and the house is still somewhat quiet. I may have to grab my Petite Pairs and my Note Cards and Envelopes and see what I can come up with.... Hmmmm.... Check back in a little bit...

Oh yeah - almost forgot this part - YIKES! This promotion is good through June 30th. Grab Your Greetings and SAVE 25%!

Nina's Card

Crafters -

I'd like to share with you a card that I received from my friend and downline member, Nina Riley.
Thank you Nina for the GREAT card!

You see, I've been with the same company for 20 years. Yes, I started when I was 9; thank you for asking!  :) I have been in the same office for the past seven years. LOVE the people I worked with! Such a blessing to enjoy the people you see day-in and day-out!

Well, I did some training a few years back that would allow me to take a specific job sometime in the future. Never too early to think about what you want to be when you grow up! There are actually two positions within the company that I would really like to do before I retire in a few years.

A few weeks ago, I expressed an interest in this one job. So this past week, I started at my new position! Even though it is WAY different than my wonderful corner office, I LOVE IT! I'm so glad I made this move! It's one of those things I've always wanted to do!

BUT, this new position will impact my card classes and schedule. Please drop me a line and let me know what days/times would be of interest to you for the new classes. Online classes will also be considered. I'll be talking with those who attend on Friday and Saturday for the New Catalog/Retirement Party, but I'd love to hear your thoughts! The Let's Play class will still be Saturday, June 22nd. However, the July Gifts of Kindness class will be slightly different. AND you can earn that class - FREE - with your order on July 1st. Ask me how!

Check back on Saturday - I'll be posting the cards we will be making at the New Catalog/Retirement Party at my home. SUCH an easy card too!

Can you believe the new catalog is LIVE on Friday?! Can't wait for everyone to see it (and I can't wait to place my first order from it!). I have my Wish List in Excel and ready to go! I have to do that because there are so many items on it!  ;)   Don't tell my husband though!

Look forward to talking with you on Friday or Saturday and THANKS again Nina for the wonderful card! I LOVE IT!

Good Life Brag Book - May's Paper Pumpkin!

Crafters -

LOTS OF PICTURES - this one may take your 'puter a minute or so to load - but you will LOVE them!

For May, Stampin' Up!'s My Paper Pumpkin is the BEST! It is called  "Good Life Brag Book" and what a PERFECT thing for Mother's Day this month. Hope they have something really cool for Dad's Day next month too!

** Although, I do have to tell you. This thing is so stinkin' cute - you could also use it for yourself, for friends, for coworkers, for just about anyone or even anything!

Here's what I did with mine! And it took me about a half hour - that's right - just 30 minutes to put the pages together!
Front of Good Life Brag Book
Just added a bit of ribbon to the rings.
Scarlet and Gray really sets this!
Kindergarten and First Grade Pages
Second and Third Grade Pages
Fourth and Fifth Grade Pages
Notice the arrow clip?
CAME WITH THE KIT!
Sixth and Seventh Grade Pages
LOVE how the arrow clip shows on this page too!
Eighth and Ninth Grade Pages
I used the second arrow clip on this one too!
Tenth and Eleventh Grade Pages
Two Pages for the Twelfth Grade Page
One for the Senior Picture and
one for the Graduation/Cap and Gown Picture
Back of Good Life Brag Book

Did you notice the theme? It's a mini brag book for the boy! Now, I did have to add some of the NEW Smoky Slate Cardstock and use my NEW Mosaic Punch and did you notice the NEW ABC-123 Outline Alphabet & Numbers Stamp set too? Yes, I also had to use my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the numbers for 10, 11, and 12.

And my crafters also made this card:
EXTRA - Card my crafters made

For this extra card, we used the colors Calypso Coral, Pool Party, and Summer Starfruit, in addition to the Basic Black Stampin' Spot that came with the kit. The card is the only thing we really stamped too! Hmmm.... let's see, there is the new Smoky Slate Cardstock for the card base, the new Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder, the new Mosaic Punch, the new Mosaic Madness Stamp Set, the four colors we used for the different mosaic punch outs, the Pool Party button that came with the kit (there were two included), a little pearl, and the ribbon... hmm.... That's right - it's a NEW ribbon from the NEW catalog - Smoky Slate 3/4" Chevron Ribbon!

How did I get that ribbon you may ask? Remember in April when I went to the Salt Lake City Regional? And my wonderful husband came as a supporting spouse demonstrator? He won the Mosaic Madness Stamp Set and they had this ribbon wrapped around it! And it fit this card SO perfectly!

Does it seem like everyone has those Kindergarten graduation pictures? They are really nice but what do you do with the pictures as the kids get older? Here's what I did with mine for the front of the Brag Book:
It will have room for TWO Graduation Pictures
The Kindergarten and the High School ones!

I took mine into work and showed it to several coworkers - crafters and noncrafters alike. I cannot tell you how many of them said "OH, I like this. I could do this with my ..... (daughter, son, granddaughter, you fill in the blank)." Unfortunately, when the monthly kit is sent out on or about the 15th, that's it - that's the only time you can get it - AND you have to signed up for it by the 10th!

SO - don't miss out on any more of the GREAT projects you can make with this WONDERFUL monthly subscription! You can Join Now! and start making some EASY and FAST and BEAUTIFUL cards and projects. Make sure you see my name (Dawn Stock, Grove City, Ohio) when you join!

Simply Sketched Sneak Peek

Crafters -

Have to tell you - when I saw this in the catalog, I just KNEW that I had to have this set. You will SO be seeing more of these designs.
Simply Sketched

What do you think? Notice anything new? The card base is the new Crisp Cantaloupe, one of the NEW 2013-2014 InColors. It is a Dynamic Duo with Calypso Coral, which used to be one of the 2011-2013 InColors, but it was such a big hit - Stampin' Up! has made it a PERMANENT part of the Subtles Collection in the new catty!

And the Designer Series Paper! You got it! NEW TOO! It's called Soho Subway and when I saw it at the Salt Lake City Regional - it was at the top of my Wish List!

This card design is the same card design we used at our Card Ministry last Friday night - just last week. Such an easy card too!

Oh yeah - I used Calypso Coral, Wild Wasabi, and Early Espresso markers to color the little birdy. Isn't he so cute? I bet if I changed the colors from the cantaloupe/calypso combination to something blue or brown... I bet it would make a really great men's card too! Such a versatile set!

Make sure you check back Saturday evening. I'll be posting the pictures of the May My Paper Pumpkin. It is just the cutest little brag book! My crafters will also be making one card to go along with the little book... I made it into a K-12 memory book with pictures of my son! It was so much fun! Ok, nothing more - check back Saturday night! You will LOVE it - I know I do!

And don't forget - my BOGO (Buy-One-Get-One) sale on Friday, May 31st (3p-8p) and Saturday, June 1st (9a-12p). When you purchase one new stamp set, Designer Series Paper, or Stamp Pad from the catalog, you can choose one of my retired stamp sets, Designer Series Paper, or Stamp Pad. The CATALOG/RETAIL price of the retired item(s) must be equal or less than your new set. (Cash prices will also be listed.)

Looking forward to seeing you next week!

Happy Mother's Day and Ronald McDonald House Charities

Happy Mother's Day!

Last Sunday, I was able to go to the local Ronald McDonald House. We made Mother's Day cards. If you didn't know, Stampin' Up! is a corporate sponsor with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). Every year, Stampin' Up! offers a stamp set and part of the proceeds go to RMHC. The current set, Moving Forward, can be seen here:
Moving Forward Stamp Set

If you'd like to learn more about how Stampin' Up! supports RMHC, you can read more about it on the Stampin' Up! website. To date, more than $95,000 has been donated from RMHC stamp set sales.

Anyhoo.... This was just one of the stamp sets we used last week. It was so great to talk with the families. We had two young ladies (both under the age of 5!) who really wanted to make cards for their moms.

The first little girl was in the process of eating her lunch. Let me assure you - she ate her veggies before she sat down to make her card! And, because it was so pretty, she gave it to her mom right away! And her mom just LOVED it - it is so nice that these families share just a small bit of their lives with us.

Then, after a little bit more lunch, she made this card for her meemaw:
I'll bet her Meemaw LOVED this card!

Did I mention? She did both of her cards with her DAD's help! And she was able to spell out the words too - her dad told her what letters to write and she wrote them. And she's only 3 - I was impressed by that alone!

The second little girl really, really, REALLY wanted to make a card for her mom. So, mom sat at a nearby table while the young lady made her card. She was a stampin' pro! Check it out! (Yes, that is her little hand holding the card so I could get a really good picture!)
Front of the card
And when you hand deliver the card, the envelope can be jazzed up all you want!

The little girl gave it to her mom - and mom was so great! She promised that she would not look at the card and she put it inside her purse inside a notebook/journal so it stayed really safe until Mother's Day. THAT mom knows what the real treasures are, doesn't she?

And, here is one of the cards I made. We always make extras and we leave them at the front desk for the residents. We also made "Thank You" and "Thinking of You" cards in addition to the Mother's Day cards. (The stamp set used in this picture is a retired stamp set that was donated to our local RMHC - thanks to a former demo who donated BOXES of stamp sets, ribbons, and all kinds of things.) Hope the mom enjoys this card!
One of the cards I made...

Happy Mother's Day to ALL Moms, Grandmas, Aunts, Sisters, Daughters, Friends, and ALL of the Important Women in our lives!

The Wife of Noble Character
A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.
She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.
She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.
She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar.
She gets up while it is still night;
she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants.
She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.
In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.
When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.
She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
“Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Honor her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
Proverbs 31:10-31 (NIV)

Downline Meeting

We had our downline meeting about two weeks ago. A good time was had by all!
Sandie on the left, Nina on the right

And we made several cards - we were doing shoebox swaps but April was our last meeting of those. The ladies did a fabulous job!
Nina's card
Sandie's card

Each lady provides her recipe of the card so that we can very easily duplicate the card for our own workshops and classes! TEAMWORK - Go Latte Joy Stampers! :)

We also talked about the new catalog and all the wonderful things in it. While we are always sad to say good-bye to some of our favorites, it is really nice making room for the new stuff too! And because I was able to attend the Salt Lake City Regional, and Stampin' Up! was kind enough to let us shop for the new stuff too, we were able to play with some of the sneak peeks!

A shoebox swap means that everyone brings the card and its pieces and parts for the card, so we each were able to make the cards! I was especially glad because I didn't have EITHER stamp set that Nina OR Sandie used. Trust me - it is really hard to find a stamp set that I do not have! Ask my husband!  :)

Nina used the white vellum cardstock for her butterfly - made easy to punch out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. And while we did have to fussy cut the blue flower, all of the others were punches - Blossom Punch, 1.75" Scallop Circle Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, and Scallop Edge Border Punch.

Our next meeting is during Stampin'Up!'s annual Convention. So, although we will not be at Convention, we will still be craftin' with our Stampin'Up! Sistahs (and brothers too - there ARE male demonstrators!). If you are interested in joining my team - I'd LOVE to talk with you!

Swallowtail

I just have to show you one of the cards we made at our last downline meeting.
Swallowtail

Don't you just LOVE it? I know I do! And here's a close-up of a portion of the butterfly.
Swallowtail - Close-up

And because each card is different - there literally are no two alike!

With the Retiring List out, I'm so sorry to see one of my favorites, Regal Rose, leave us. Especially when it pairs so nicely with Rose Red (thankfully Rose Red is staying - YEAH!). And I'm really going to miss my Regal Rose 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon too! Unfortunately, the paper has sold out - it is still available in the Regals package in both 8.5"x11" and 12"x12". BUT the Regal Rose Classic Stampin' Pad is still available!

Did you catch the new stamp set in the middle - and it's matching punch - LOVE the sneak peeks we get as demonstrators! AND you can order it beginning May 31st!

Let me know if you'd like to make this card at YOUR private card class or when you host a workshop! We will need to do different colors, but let me assure you - this card is STRIKING in real life!

I just love this new set and its coordinating punch. You can see it in the new catalog! Don't have one yet? Let me know - I'd love to be your demonstrator and get one of these babies in YOUR hands!
